  1. I was needing the requirement, and I thought it would be a nice chance to try an online course. Killing two birds with one stone...

  2. The main reason I am taking this class is for cross cultural credit. However, I do enjoy sociology classes, so I figured this would be a good class to finish up my general education requirements.

  3. I'm taking this course for the sociology credit. But I thought the way the course was presented and the way it is easy to work with my busy schedule, it seemed like a class I would enjoy. I have also always been interested in language and learning about the origins sounds like an intriguing topic.

  4. I have two reasons for taking this class. The first is entirely mercenary: in order to continue teaching 6th Grade Social Studies, I need enough hours to get a Social Studies endorsement on my certificate. The second reason--the reason I chose this particular class to complete my hours--is that I love languages. I think if I were to pursue another degree, that I would study linguistics. I love words, word origins, and even the sounds of different languages.

  5. I'm taking this course mainly as a way to get sociology credit as well as cross cultural credit. Having three majors, it is quite difficult to fit in general education credits when there are offered because I have so many classes required for my majors that I have to fit in at specific times, so being able to take this class online over the summer when it does not interfere with my major classes is a huge help.

  7. Due to changes in my degree plan, it was in my best interest to take a summer course, and additionally, doing so would partially prevent idleness during the summer break. A language-based sociology course seemed like an intriguing take on the subject since I also have interest in languages. Why not?

  8. I am taking this class because first of all, it looked interesting, and second of all it takes care of both my soc credit and my cross-cultural credit! This is Ansley by the way... it wont let me use my own google account so I had to use my moms :)

  10. I am taking this class to complete my sociology and cross cultural credits. Furthermore I am taking this class to allow me to graduate on time this coming spring. As a transfer student here I have found it very difficult to graduate on time as things were not accepted here at Greenville leaving me credits behind.

  11. I though this class sounded very intersting and it also allowed me to get two classes out of the way. I'm a bio/chem major and thought it would be smart to take this class so I could have more time of other classes.

  12. I have learned so much already after having started the reading! I am so glad I decided to take this class! It will allow me to take more classes having taken this in the summer instead of the school year!
